We are currently recruiting Registered Nurses (RN) and Licensed Practical Nurses (LPN) for full-time, 13- and 26-week contract positions at state-operated adult correctional facilities located in the Central, Eastern, and Western Regions of Virginia. Your expertise and leadership will help ensure high-quality care to those in need.

These highly sought-after positions will be filled on a first-come, first-served basis. Successful candidates must be able to complete onboarding requirements and begin their assignment in accordance with the terms of their contract.

Registered Nurse (RN) and Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) Job Details:

• 13- and 26-week contracts (with opportunities for renewal)
• Full-time schedule, 36 hours (three 12-hour shifts per week, including every other weekend)
• 12-hour day shift and 12-hour night shift positions available
• Mandatory online training and orientation required prior to beginning the assignment

Registered Nurse (RN) and Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) License and Credentials Requirements:

• Current Virginia or Compact RN/LPN License
• Current CPR Certification, BLS – American Heart Association
• Current PPD

Registered Nurse (RN) Job Duties:

• Conduct health assessments and sick call for inmates
• Administer medications and treatments
• Provide health education and counseling
• Coordinate care with other healthcare professionals
• Monitor inmate health
• Treat inmate health conditions and injuries
• Supervise nursing assistants

Licensed Practical Nurses (LPN) Job Duties:

• Administer medications and treatments
• Provide health education and counseling
• Coordinate care with other healthcare professionals
• Monitor inmate health and maintain patient records
• Treat inmate health conditions and injuries
• Supervise nursing assistants

Registered Nurse (RN) and Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) Job Benefits:
