Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN): Behavioral Health

We are actively recruiting Licensed Practical Nurses (LPN) for full-time contract positions at state-operated healthcare facilities in Butner, North Carolina. These facilities include a psychiatric hospital and a developmental center that provide services to individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities and complex behavioral or medical conditions. Your expertise and leadership will help ensure high-quality care to those in need.

These highly sought-after positions will be filled on a first-come, first-served basis. Successful candidates must be able to complete onboarding requirements and begin their assignment in accordance with the terms of their contract.

Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) Job Details:

  • 16-week contract (with opportunities for additional 13-week contract renewals)
  • Full-time night shift (7:00 p.m. – 7:30 a.m.) positions are available
  • Full-time night shift schedule is a rotating 36 / 48 schedule (three 12-hour shifts / four 12-hour shifts), including every other weekend
  • Full-time schedule, 40 hours (five 8-hour shifts), including every other weekend
  • First shift (7:00 a.m. – 3:30 p.m.), second shift (3:00 p.m. – 11:39 p.m.), and third shift (11:00 p.m. – 7:30 a.m.) positions are available
  • Mandatory 4-week onboarding for orientation and training, first shift (7:00 a.m. – 3:30 p.m.), Monday through Friday, at the beginning of the assignment

Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) License and Credentials Requirements:

  • Current North Carolina or Multistate LPN license
  • One year of nursing experience
  • Current PPD
  • Current CPR Certification, BLS – American Heart Association

Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) Primary Job Duties:

  • Provide comprehensive patient care, including assessment and monitoring of mental health conditions
  • Administer medications and treatments as prescribed
  • Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to develop and implement individualized care plans
  • Maintain accurate records of patient histories, conditions, and treatments
  • Educate patients and families on health management and treatment options
