Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN): Corrections

We have multiple openings for correctional LPN jobs near Charlottesville, VA at a state-operated adult correctional facility in Dillwyn, Virginia. Your expertise and leadership will help ensure high-quality care for those in need, and you can expand your clinical background working with a varied patient population.

Successful candidates must be able to complete onboarding requirements and begin their assignment in accordance with the terms of their contract.

Job Details

Pay: $36.00 per hour

• 13- and 26-week contracts (with opportunities for contract renewals)
• Day shift and night shift positions are available
• Full-time schedule, 36 hours

Shift Details

• Three 12-hour shifts per week, including every other weekend
• Shift times vary by facility
• Day shift times (6:30a–7p / 7a–7:30p / 8a–8:30p)
• Night shift times (6p–6:30a / 6:30p–7a / 7:00p–7:30a / 8:00p–8:30a)

License and Credentials Requirements

• Current Virginia or compact LPN License
• Current CPR Certification, BLS – American Heart Association
• Current PPD

Primary Job Duties

• Administer medications and treatments
• Provide health education and counseling
• Coordinate care with other healthcare professionals
• Monitor inmate health and maintain patient records
• Treat inmate health conditions and injuries
• Supervise nursing assistants
