Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN): Psychiatric Facilities

We are actively recruiting Licensed Practical Nurses (LPN) for full-time contract positions at a state-operated psychiatric hospital and developmental center in Morganton, North Carolina. Your expertise and leadership will help ensure high-quality care to those in need.

These highly sought-after positions will be filled on a first-come, first-served basis. Successful candidates must be able to complete onboarding requirements and begin their assignment in accordance with the terms of their contract.

Job Details:

• 16-week contract (with opportunities for additional 13-week contract renewals)
• Full-time schedule
• 12-hour day shift (7:00 a.m. – 7:30 p.m.) and 12-hour night shift (7:00 p.m. – 7:30 a.m.) positions are available
• Rotating 36 / 48 schedule (three 12-hour shifts / four 12-hour shifts), including every other weekend
• Mandatory 4-week onboarding for orientation and training, first shift (7:00 a.m. – 3:30 p.m.), Monday through Friday, at the beginning of the contract

License and Credentials Requirements:

• Current North Carolina or multistate LPN license
• At least one year of nursing experience
• Current PPD
• Current CPR Certification, BLS – American Heart Association

Primary Job Duties:

• Provide comprehensive patient care, including assessment and monitoring of mental health conditions
• Administer medications and treatments as prescribed
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to develop and implement individualized care plans
• Maintain accurate records of patient histories, conditions, and treatments
• Educate patients and families on health management and treatment options
