Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA): Behavioral Health

We have multiple openings for CNA jobs near Durham, NC, for a state-operated psychiatric hospital located in Butner, NC. Your expertise as a Certified Nursing Assistant will help ensure high-quality care for those in need.

These highly sought-after positions offer premium pay and will be filled on a first-come, first-served basis.

Successful candidates must be able to complete onboarding requirements and begin their assignment according to the terms of their contract. There is a mandatory 4-week onboarding for orientation and training, first shift (7a–3:30p), on weekdays, at the beginning of the assignment.

CNA Job Details

  • 16-week contract (with opportunities for 13-week contract renewals)
  • Full-time schedule, 40 hours
  • Five 8-hour shifts per week, including every other weekend
  • 1st shift (7a–3:30p)
  • 2nd shift (3p–11:30p) is the greatest need
  • 3rd shift (11p–7:30a)

License and Credentials Requirements

  • North Carolina C.N.A. Certification
  • Current PPD
  • Current CPR Certification, BLS – American Heart Association

Primary Job Duties

  • Assisting patients with daily activities (bathing, moving, and walking)
  • Taking and recording patient vital signs
  • Supervising patients at all times
  • Assisting patients with basic personal hygiene
