Registered Nurse (RN): Behavioral Health

We currently have multiple openings for behavioral health RN jobs in Columbia, SC at a state-operated psychiatric hospital. This facility provides psychiatric and forensic treatment and evaluation services to adults, and psychiatric and substance use disorder treatment to children and adolescents. Your expertise and leadership qualities as a Registered Nurse will help ensure high-quality care for those in need.

Successful candidates must be able to complete onboarding requirements and begin their assignment according to the contract.

• Mandatory onboarding for orientation and training for up to 8 days, first shift (8:30a–5p), weekdays, at the beginning of the assignment

Job Details

Pay: $45.00 per hour

• 8-week contract (with opportunities for contract renewals)
• Full-time schedule, 36 hours
• Three 12-hour shifts per week, including every other weekend
• Day shift (7a–8p) positions available
• Night shift (7p–7a) positions available

Registered Nurse License and Credentials Requirements

• Current South Carolina or Compact RN License
• At least one year of nursing experience (behavioral health preferred)
• Current CPR Certification, BLS – American Heart Association
• Current 2-Step PPD or QuantiFERON

Primary Job Duties

• Patient assessments
• Planning and coordination of patient care
• Medication management
• Documentation
• Direct and supervise LPNs and Nurse Aides
