Registered Nurse (RN): Behavioral Health

We have multiple openings for behavioral health RN jobs in Morganton, NC, at a state-operated psychiatric hospital outside of Hickory, NC. These full-time contract positions offer premium pay. Your behavioral health expertise and leadership will help ensure high-quality care for those in need.

Successful candidates must be able to complete onboarding requirements and begin their assignment according to the contract.

Job Details

• 16-week contract (with opportunities for additional 13-week contract renewals)
• Mandatory 4-week onboarding for orientation and training, first shift (7a–3:30p), Monday through Friday, at the beginning of the contract

Shift Details

• Full-time rotating 36/48 schedule
• Three 12-hour shifts/four 12-hour shifts per week
• Including every other weekend
• Day shift positions (7a–7:30p)

Behavioral Health RN License and Credentials Requirements

• North Carolina or multistate RN license
• At least one year of behavioral health nursing experience
• CPR Certification, BLS – American Heart Association
• Current PPD

Primary Duties

• Provide comprehensive patient care, including assessment and monitoring of mental health conditions
• Educate patients and families on health management and treatment options
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to develop and implement individualized care plans
• Administer medications and treatments
• Maintain accurate patient records
